Your guide to Virgin Media Business Broadband packages
Dan Howdle
Virgin Media Business offers a range of broadband packages aimed at smaller UK businesses. Whether you're running things from home, sharing a small office, or managing a busy team, there's likely a Voom package that fits.
Each package includes a fixed price for the full 24 month term, with speeds starting at over 200Mbps and going right up to 1Gbps. You can also choose a 'bundle' version of any package that includes a phone line with inclusive calls, onto which you can further add various calling features at additional cost. This guide breaks it all down.

Choosing the right Virgin Media Business Broadband package
Virgin Media Business sells its broadband under the name Voom. There are four speed options to choose from – Voom 200, Voom 400, Voom 600 and Voom Gig1 – and each one is available either on its own or as a bundle that includes a phone line with inclusive calls. It’s a simple setup that makes it easy to choose a package – something we definitely appreciate.
What’s the difference between them?
- Voom 200: The most affordable option, with average speeds of 213Mbps and no phone line as standard
- Voom 400: Offers double the speed at 400Mbps, making it a good fit for small teams or anyone using cloud tools or video calls
- Voom 600: Suitable for heavier users or larger teams where multiple people are online at once
- Voom Gig1: Delivers average speeds of 1Gbps, ideal for very busy networks or businesses moving a lot of data every day
If you still use a landline or need to make calls regularly, the 'bundle' versions of each package add inclusive anytime calls for an extra £10 per month (at the time of writing). All packages include a fixed price guarantee and run on a 24-month contract.
What our expert says...
"Virgin Media keeps things refreshingly simple with its Voom broadband packages. You choose your speed, then decide whether you need a phone line. For most small businesses, Voom 400 or Voom 600 will hit the sweet spot – fast enough to keep up, without going overboard. And if your needs are a little more demanding? No problem, upgrades are available."

Virgin Media Business Broadband packages explained
Virgin Media Business broadband is offered under the name 'Voom', with four speed options available. Each can also be taken as a bundle, which adds a digital phone line with inclusive anytime calls. The right option for you depends on how many people are using your connection, what kind of work you're doing online, and whether or not you need a phone line.
Every package comes with a fixed price guarantee for the length of the contract, which means the monthly cost won’t increase during your agreed term. All contracts are 24 months.
Virgin Media Business Broadband package comparison
If your business needs fast downloads, handles large files, or relies on cloud-based tools, the faster Voom packages – especially Voom 600 or Gig1 – may be worth considering. If you also make regular phone calls, the bundle versions add value by including a digital phone line with inclusive calls.
Whichever you choose, every Voom package includes the same fixed-price guarantee and contract length, so there are no surprises once you're signed up.
Phone services and digital line features
Opting for a Voom bundle from Virgin Media Business means your broadband package includes a digital phone line. This service operates over your broadband connection, replacing traditional copper lines, which are being phased out across the UK by the end of 2025.
What's included with the digital phone line?
Each Voom bundle with a phone line offers:
- Unlimited UK calls: Inclusive calls to UK landlines (01, 02, 03) and UK mobile networks
- Voicemail: Capture messages when you're unavailable
- Caller display: See incoming caller numbers, if available
- Call hold: Place callers on hold when needed
- Last number announcement: Identify the last number that called you
Optional features and bolt-ons
Virgin Media Business offers additional features to enhance your phone service. These can be added during your contract term:
- Call divert: Redirect calls to another number when you're unavailable
- Hunt group: Distribute incoming calls across multiple lines
- Anonymous call rejection: Block calls from withheld numbers
- Call waiting: Be notified of incoming calls while on another call
- Call barring: Restrict outgoing calls to certain numbers
- Last number redial: Quickly redial the last number called
- Multi-party calling: Connect multiple people on a single call
- Permanent number withholding: Keep your number private on all calls
These features are typically added on a per-line basis and will incur additional monthly charges. To add or modify them you'll need to contact Virgin Media Business directly
Important considerations
Since the phone service operates over your broadband connection, it's essential to keep your router powered on at all times to make and receive calls. In the event of a power or network outage, the phone line will not function. If your business relies on devices like alarms or healthcare monitors that require a constant phone connection, it's especially important to understand this.
Virgin Media Business does offer the means to accommodate vulnerable users or those without access to mobile services. It's advisable to discuss your needs directly with their support team if this is the case.
Availability and network
Virgin Media Business operates its own nationwide fibre network, covering over 15 million premises across the UK. To check if your location is covered, use the postcode checker at the top of this page. Around two thirds of UK premises can get it at this time.
For areas not yet served by Virgin Media, they're expanding their reach through initiatives like the Nexfibre project – a joint venture aims to bring Full Fibre (Virgin Media's existing network is hybrid fibre and copper cabling) to more locations, focusing on places that previously lacked access to high-speed broadband. However, if you're faced with waiting for Virgin Media to arrive at your location, choosing a provider that is available now is going to be the better option since there's no way of knowing how long that wait might be.
Installation, support, and service guarantees
Virgin Media Business offers two installation options:
- QuickStart: A self-installation kit suitable for premises that have been previously connected to Virgin Media's network. The kit includes all necessary equipment and instructions, allowing you to set up your broadband service without the need for an engineer visit
- Engineer installation: For new connections or more complex setups, a professional installation by a Virgin Media engineer is arranged. The engineer will handle both internal and external work required to establish the connection
Once your broadband is active, Virgin Media Business provides 24/7 customer support to assist with any issues or inquiries. Additionally, the company offers a 99.9% network availability guarantee, aiming to resolve any service disruptions promptly and minimise downtime for your business. This is fairly typical for a business provider – you can expect a far prompter remedy when your broadband goes down than you would with a standard home broadband connection.
