Tracking down a direct line to your broadband provider can feel like a struggle, especially when many companies bury their contact numbers beneath loads of troubleshooting articles. Fortunately, EE makes it relatively straightforward to access customer support. Whether you have issues with your connection or need to discuss switching to them, there are lots of ways to get in contact with EE.
If you prefer to resolve an issue by speaking directly with a customer support agent, the options are relatively simple to navigate. EE routes most of its consumer queries through a centralized call center.

The quickest way to reach the right department depends entirely on what device you are calling from:
From any active EE mobile handset: Dial 150. This is a completely free call.
From a non-EE phone or standard landline, call their freephone number 0800 079 8586 or dial 0330 123 1105.
Their main call centres are operational from 8am to 9pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm on Saturdays, and 9am to 6pm on Sundays.
Upon dialing, an automated system will ask you to categorize your issue. To minimize time spent on hold, the system filters calls during high-traffic periods, so you may occasionally be offered a text prompt to arrange a call-back. Generally, that's better than waiting in a queue.
If you're planning to sign up for a new package or move from another provider, you can dial 0800 956 6000 or call 0800 079 0193 to reach the sales team directly. They're open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 6pm on weekends.
Obviously, we'd also advise you try our broadband comparison tools to see exactly what's available at your address, and compare that against offers from other providers. You can often save a surprising ammount each year!
For those who favor typing, digital text support is available directly via their website or by launching the text tools inside the My EE app. It's handled by an automated virtual AI chatbot named 'TOBi'. Entering billing details through an AI can feel a bit impersonal, but it's usually quite simple. If you'd rather speak to a real person, just enter a direct phrase such as "I want to speak to a human" to join a queue to reach a real customer care assistant.
EE has teams to monitor public mentions and direct inquiries across social media. You can interact with their support handles on Twitter/X @EE or Facebook (facebook.com/ee). Because publically visible complaints can be embarassing to them, they're usually responsive and monitor messages late into the evening. So social media can be a useful out-of-hours alternative.
For existing contract holders, downloading the My EE app onto an iOS or Android device can be really handy. The app allows you to run line health-checks, monitor the local network and even message their customer support agents.
Like many providers, EE enables people to post on an group platform – the EE Community forum. It's monitored by vetted experts and community moderators (who are EE employees). You can't actually purchase packages via this route, but moderators can look into things like account problems, order delays and technical issues.
If you have connection problems, you can start by sending an SMS message. Text the word 'HELP' followed by your specific landline number to 66033. Their system should then run automated tests and if a problem is discovered, you'll receive a text to schedule an engineer appointment. Otherwise, a customer care representative should call your mobile. In theory, that'll be within 30 minutes.
Happily, you can still actually write a old fashioned letter directly to their customer service handling center at the following address:
EE Customer Services

Sunderland
Tyne and Wear

Our broadband postcode checker will find you the best deals, providers and speeds where you live. It's free and takes less than a minute to check and compare.
If things have gone completely wrong and you need to make a formal complaint, the fastest route is to call 150 from your EE phone or 0800 079 8586 from a landline. Just remember, you have to give their team a chance to patch things up before you can officially escalate a dispute.
If you prefer keeping a digital paper trail, head over to the complaints section on the EE website and use their official webform. You can also write a physical letter to the Sunderland address listed above. EE will log the issue, hand you a complaint reference number, and usually aims to sort things out within 5 to 7 working days.
If EE gives you a final answer that you aren't happy with, or if your complaint has been dragged out for eight weeks without a fix, you can bring in the big guns.
EE is a member of CISAS (the Communications and Internet Services Adjudication Scheme), which is an independent, Ofcom-approved dispute resolver run by a non-profit called CEDR. They act as an impartial referee, and their service is completely free for consumers.
You can launch an official investigation by calling CISAS on 0207 520 3814, emailing them at cisas@cedr.com, or setting up a case online at https://cedr.com/consumer/cisas. If the adjudicator looks over your evidence and agrees that EE dropped the ball, their verdict is legally binding, meaning EE is forced to pay out whatever compensation or fix they order.
When customer service becomes too much of a headache, sometimes it's best to vote with your feet. If you are out of your minimum contract term, switching to a new provider can easily trim hundreds of pounds a year off your outgoings. New-customer deals are always much cheaper, so check out our broadband availability and price comparison to see what sort of cash, speed boosts, and welcome vouchers you could be bagging elsewhere.
