Get BT Full Fibre 150 with a £50 Virtual Reward Card

Full Fibre 150 gives you average download speeds of 150Mbps, which is more than enough for the way most of us use our broadband. It’s quick enough to cover streaming, gaming, home working, and plenty of connected devices all at once, and it comes with BT’s Personal Speed Guarantee so you know it'll deliver consistently.

At £27.99 per month on a 24-month contract, BT also includes a special extra: order online and you’ll get a £50 reward card once your broadband is up and running. The reward effectively helps bring down the cost of your first year. With zero upfront fees and BT’s reliable Full Fibre network, it’s a solid choice.

How do I claim my £50 reward card?

The £50 reward card with BT Full Fibre 150 is an £50 Virtual Reward Card. Unlike some automatic bill credits, you’ll need to claim this yourself. Once your broadband service is live, you must log in to the BT Reward Card claim site and submit your details.

You must claim within three months of placing your order. After your claim is processed, the card will usually be sent within 14 days. Depending on when your service was installed, the card will either be posted to your installation address or emailed to the account email address you signed up with. Once received, you must activate the card within three months.

  • Order BT Full Fibre 150 online using the links on this page
  • Wait until your broadband is installed and active
  • Visit BT's website to make your claim
  • Receive your card (usually within 14 days) and activate it within three months

The BT Reward Card is a prepaid Mastercard, so it can be used anywhere Mastercard is accepted, both online and in a physical shop. It cannot be exchanged for cash though, and only one card will be issued per household. If you cancel your order or miss the claim deadline, you will lose it.

Why BT Full Fibre 150 is worth your money

BT’s Full Fibre 150 comes in at £27.99 per month on a 24-month contract. The price is stepped – starting at £27.99, rising to £31.99 in year two, and £35.99 from year three – but even with those increases it sits comfortably alongside other mainstream Full Fibre packages at this speed for a premium provider and service. If you want a solid upgrade from Standard Fibre without going overboard, 150Mbps is often the sweet spot.

What adds extra appeal here is the £50 reward card. Claim it once your broadband is live, and it effectively cuts a small chunk off your first year’s effective cost.

On top of that, you’re buying into BT’s wider ecosystem. That means access to BT’s Smart Hub router (with Wi-Fi 5, unless you upgrade to BT’s Complete Wi-Fi), a nationwide customer service network, and eligibility for add-ons like EE TV. While it’s not the cheapest provider around, BT balances reliability, coverage, and extras that many will value and feel worth paying for.

Put simply, this is a low-end Full Fibre package, but one that gives you just enough speed, and a bonus in the form of a reward card.

150Mbps will be enough for most

BT’s Full Fibre 150 gives you average download speeds of 150Mbps, which while below average in these heady days of gigabit broadband, is still plenty for most of us. At this speed, you can comfortably run multiple 4K streams, keep video calls smooth, play online games, and let others scroll, stream, or download at the same time without worrying about slowdowns.

For day-to-day life, 150Mbps feels quick. Large software updates or big game downloads might not be as brief as the top packages here, but everything else is going to feel pretty frictionless. The 28Mbps upload speed on offer here is still fast enough to handle video calls, sharing media, and general work-from-home stuff without issue.

Unless you’ve got a very busy household full of gamers and streamers, you’re unlikely to push a 150Mbps line to its limit very often. It's enough that you don’t have to think too hard about who’s online or what they’re doing.

What router you get with BT Full Fibre 150

When you sign up for BT Full Fibre 150, you’ll receive the Smart Hub 2 router at no extra cost. This is the standard router BT provides with all its Full Fibre packages. If you already had Full Fibre or are upgrading, this is what you’ll get; there’s no optional 'fancier' router option. And that may actually be considered a bit of a downside by some, since Wi-Fi 6 is kind of the standard now, with more than one notable provider now offering Wi-Fi 7!

Wi-Fi 5, 6, 7 are different in how fast your Wi-Fi speeds can be around the house. They do require compatible devices though, so there's an argument to be made that if you don't have a lot of speed-hungry Wi-Fi 6 and 7-compatible devices around your house, you don't need that anyway.

Smart Hub 2 specs at a glance:

Feature Specification
Wi-Fi version Wi-Fi 5 (dual-band)
Ethernet ports 4 gigabit LAN ports
Extra features Supports BT 'Complete Wi-Fi' mesh system, built-in DECT for Digital Voice phones
Range help Seven internal aerials – you can add Wi-Fi Discs to improve coverage in larger homes

The Hub 2 will generally do well in most homes. If your home is large or has thick walls, the Wi-Fi Discs system from BT (Complete Wi-Fi) can help fill those dead zones. For everyday use – streaming, video calls, gaming – the Smart Hub 2 gives you what you need without needing to upgrade to something else.

Getting BT Full Fibre 150 installed

BT also uses the Openreach network, so what happens on installation day depends on whether your home already has a Full Fibre line. If you’ve only ever had Standard Fibre before, an engineer visit is normally required. They’ll run a fibre cable into your property and connect it to the new socket inside – which can sometimes involve drilling a small hole through an external wall. If your home is already fitted for Full Fibre, things are simpler: BT can often just send you the Smart Hub 2 in the post for self-setup.

Switching is now simpler too. Under Ofcom’s One Touch Switching rules, you only need to place your order with BT, and it will handle the cancellation with your old provider. For most people the process is smooth and quick, but if you’re renting it’s best to check with your landlord in case any cabling work is needed. In most cases though, installation takes a couple of hours at most, and you’ll be online the same day.

No setup fees with BT Full Fibre 150

BT doesn’t add any one-off costs when you take this package. The installation and the Smart Hub 2 router are both included as part of the deal, so you won’t find an activation or delivery charge sneaking onto your first bill.

It’s a small but welcome saving, especially as some other providers still add setup fees of up to £35. With BT, the price you see is the price you pay – just the monthly cost of the package, and nothing extra on top.

Why BT is one of the best providers

BT is still perhaps 'the' biggest name in broadband, and with that comes a level of coverage and support you won’t always find elsewhere. As the largest provider on the Openreach network, BT can offer Full Fibre to millions of homes, and its packages are backed by extras like the Stay Fast Guarantee and access to a nationwide network of Wi-Fi hotspots.

Customer service is another strong point. Ofcom’s recent reports show BT scoring well above the industry average for handling issues and keeping customers satisfied. And because it invests heavily in both its network and its kit, the Smart Hub 2 router and optional Complete Wi-Fi system are more than a match for most households, though as previously mentioned, no Wi-Fi 6 or 7 can be considered a bit of a disadvantage.

BT Full Fibre 145 sits in a pretty sweet spot all told – quick enough to handle everything from 4K streaming and online gaming to home working, without getting anywhere near the cost of gigabit or multi-gigabit packages. It’s a good balance of speed, reliability and price. If you want to learn more, check out our BT Broadband review or see how BT stacks up against other providers in our latest surveys.
