Get a £60 virtual reward card when you sign up for BT Full Fibre 300 broadband

BT’s Full Fibre 300 package is made for households that need something faster than the entry-level Full Fibre package, but not the extreme speeds at the top end of the range. With average downloads of 300Mbps, it’s well-suited to families or shared homes where several people stream, work, and game at the same time. It’s also close to the current UK average broadband speed, which means it hits a level of performance that feels fast without being excessive or leaving too much on the table.

At £30.99 on a 24-month contract, it’s priced similarly to what you’d expect from a premium provider like BT (reassuringly expensive as they say), and includes a personal speed guarantee. You can also claim a £60 virtual reward card after installation, which helps bring the effective cost down.

Full Fibre 300 is a sensibly-specced, capable broadband package that delivers plenty of speed for the way most households typically use the internet.

How do I claim my £60 virtual reward card ?

The virtual reward card offered with BT Full Fibre 300 is for new customers only – so you'll have to have not been a BT customer in the past 12 months to claim it. And, unlike some automatic bill credits, you’ll need to claim this yourself. Once your broadband service is live, you must log in to the BT Reward Card claim site and submit your details.

You must claim within three months of placing your order. After your claim is processed, the card will usually be sent within 14 days. Depending on when your service was installed, the card will either be posted to your installation address or emailed to the account email address you signed up with. Once received, you must activate the card within three months.

  • Order BT Full Fibre 300 online using the links on this page
  • Wait until your broadband is installed and active
  • Visit BT's website to make your claim
  • Receive your card (usually within 14 days) and activate it within three months

The BT Reward Card is a prepaid Mastercard, so it can be used anywhere Mastercard is accepted, both online and in a physical shop. It cannot be exchanged for cash though, and only one card will be issued per household. If you cancel your order or miss the claim deadline, you will lose it.

Why BT Full Fibre 300 is worth your money

BT’s Full Fibre 300 is priced at £30.99 on a 24-month contract, which puts it right in line with what you’d expect for a mid-range Full Fibre plan from a major provider. You’ll be getting average speeds of 300Mbps, which is ideal if you’re upgrading from older fibre and want something that feels instantly faster without paying for more speed than you’ll realistically use.

The £60 virtual reward card adds extra value of course, so definitely worth picking up while this offer's on. It'll help trim a little off your first year’s cost. BT’s Smart Hub 2 router comes as standard, and while it uses Wi-Fi 5, it’s solid and reliable – or you can upgrade to BT’s Complete Wi-Fi system if you need whole-home coverage.

As ever with BT, you’re also buying into strong customer support, excellent add-on options, and the reassurance of a speed guarantee. All in all Full Fibre 300 is a sensible mid-range Full Fibre package suitable for almost anyone.

300Mbps is likely all the speed you’ll ever need

BT’s Full Fibre 300 offers average download speeds of 300Mbps, which sits comfortably above the UK’s current average broadband speed. It’s quick enough for most households to do just about everything at once – stream in 4K, join video calls, play online games and browse on multiple devices – all without any noticeable slowdowns.

For most families or shared homes, this kind of speed means you’ll rarely need to think about who’s online or what they’re doing. Upload speeds are also solid (49Mbps), so video calls, cloud backups and large file uploads are pretty hassle free. Unless you have a particularly data-hungry household with lots of simultaneous gaming and streaming, it’s unlikely you’ll ever run into bottlenecks.

If you’re currently on Standard Fibre, the jump to Full Fibre 300 will feel immediately obvious. Pages will load faster, downloads will finish in a fraction of the time, and your connection is going to feel more consistent overall.

What router you get with BT Full Fibre 300

When you sign up for BT Full Fibre 300, you’ll receive the Smart Hub 2 router at no extra cost. This is the standard router BT provides with all its Full Fibre packages. If you already had Full Fibre or are upgrading, this is what you’ll get; there’s no optional 'fancier' router option. And that may actually be considered a bit of a downside by some, since Wi-Fi 6 is kind of the standard now, with more than one notable provider now offering Wi-Fi 7!

Wi-Fi 5, 6, 7 are different in how fast your Wi-Fi speeds can be around the house. They do require compatible devices though, so there's an argument to be made that if you don't have a lot of speed-hungry Wi-Fi 6 and 7-compatible devices around your house, you don't need that anyway.

Smart Hub 2 specs at a glance:

Feature Specification
Wi-Fi version Wi-Fi 5 (dual-band)
Ethernet ports 4 gigabit LAN ports
Extra features Supports BT 'Complete Wi-Fi' mesh system, built-in DECT for Digital Voice phones
Range help Seven internal aerials – you can add Wi-Fi Discs to improve coverage in larger homes

The Hub 2 will generally do well in most homes. If your home is large or has thick walls, the Wi-Fi Discs system from BT (Complete Wi-Fi) can help fill those dead zones. For everyday use – streaming, video calls, gaming – the Smart Hub 2 gives you what you need without needing to upgrade to something else.

Getting BT Full Fibre 300 installed

BT also uses the Openreach network, so what happens on installation day depends on whether your home already has a Full Fibre line. If you’ve only ever had Standard Fibre before, an engineer visit is normally required. They’ll run a fibre cable into your property and connect it to the new socket inside – which can sometimes involve drilling a small hole through an external wall. If your home is already fitted for Full Fibre, things are simpler: BT can often just send you the Smart Hub 2 in the post for self-setup.

Switching is now simpler too. Under Ofcom’s One Touch Switching rules, you only need to place your order with BT, and it will handle the cancellation with your old provider. For most people the process is smooth and quick, but if you’re renting it’s best to check with your landlord in case any cabling work is needed. In most cases though, installation takes a couple of hours at most, and you’ll be online the same day.

No setup fees with BT Full Fibre 300

BT doesn’t add any one-off costs when you take this package. The installation and the Smart Hub 2 router are both included as part of the deal, so you won’t find an activation or delivery charge sneaking onto your first bill.

It’s a small but welcome saving, especially as some other providers still add setup fees of up to £35. With BT, the price you see is the price you pay – just the monthly cost of the package, and nothing extra on top.

Why BT is one of the best providers

BT is still perhaps 'the' biggest name in broadband, and with that comes a level of coverage and support you won’t always find elsewhere. As the largest provider on the Openreach network, BT can offer Full Fibre to millions of homes, and its packages are backed by extras like the Stay Fast Guarantee and access to a nationwide network of Wi-Fi hotspots.

Customer service is another strong point. Ofcom’s recent reports show BT scoring well above the industry average for handling issues and keeping customers satisfied. And because it invests heavily in both its network and its kit, the Smart Hub 2 router and optional Complete Wi-Fi system are more than a match for most households, though as previously mentioned, no Wi-Fi 6 or 7 can be considered a bit of a disadvantage.

BT Full Fibre 300 sits in a pretty sweet spot all told – more than quick enough to handle everything from 4K streaming and online gaming to home working, without suffering the cost associated with a gigabit or multi-gigabit package. It’s a good balance of speed, reliability and price. If you want to learn more, check out our BT Broadband review or see how BT stacks up against other providers in our latest surveys.
