The £150 reward card with BT Full Fibre 900 is a £150 Virtual Reward Card. Unlike some automatic bill credits, you’ll need to claim this yourself. Once your broadband service is live, you must log in to the BT Reward Card claim site and submit your details.

You must claim within three months of placing your order. After your claim is processed, the card will usually be sent within 14 days. Depending on when your service was installed, the card will either be posted to your installation address or emailed to the account email address you signed up with. Once received, you must activate the card within three months.

What router you get with BT Full Fibre 900

When you sign up for BT Full Fibre 900, you’ll receive the Smart Hub 2 router at no extra cost. This is the standard router BT provides with all its Full Fibre packages. If you already had Full Fibre or are upgrading, this is what you’ll get; there’s no optional 'fancier' router option, sadly. And that may actually be considered a bit of a downside by some, since Wi-Fi 6 is kind of the standard now, and especially useful on gigabit-level packages.

Wi-Fi 5, 6, 7 are different in how fast your Wi-Fi speeds can be around the house. They do require compatible devices though, so there's an argument to be made that if you don't have a lot of speed-hungry Wi-Fi 6 and 7-compatible devices around your house, you don't need that anyway. But really, BT needs to address this soon.

The Hub 2 will generally do well in most homes but will struggle to send more than a couple of hundred megabits a second to a single device. If your home is large or has thick walls, the Wi-Fi Discs system from BT (Complete Wi-Fi) can help fill those dead zones. Getting BT Full Fibre 900 installed

BT also uses the Openreach network, so what happens on installation day depends on whether your home already has a Full Fibre line. If you’ve only ever had Standard Fibre before, an engineer visit is normally required. They’ll run a fibre cable into your property and connect it to the new socket inside – which can sometimes involve drilling a small hole through an external wall. If your home is already fitted for Full Fibre, things are simpler: BT can often just send you the Smart Hub 2 in the post for self-setup.

Switching is now simpler too. Under Ofcom’s One Touch Switching rules, you only need to place your order with BT, and it will handle the cancellation with your old provider. For most people the process is smooth and quick, but if you’re renting it’s best to check with your landlord in case any cabling work is needed. In most cases though, installation takes a couple of hours at most, and you’ll be online the same day.

BT doesn’t add any one-off costs when you take this package. The installation and the Smart Hub 2 router are both included as part of the deal, so you won’t find an activation or delivery charge sneaking onto your first bill.
