Sky’s Full Fibre 500 broadband deal is one of the best value high-speed packages we’ve seen in a while. For just £29 a month on a 24-month contract, you’ll get average speeds of 500Mbps – more than enough for households juggling streaming, gaming, and working from home. And to sweeten the deal, Sky's also throwing in an £85 Gift Card when you sign up online. Let’s take a closer look at why this offer is such a standout.
Sky’s Full Fibre 500 package is now just £29 per month on a 24-month contract. Getting 500Mbps speeds at under thirty quid a month is excellent value, especially from a major provider like Sky, which will tend not to skimp on the frills and extras like a high-quality router, parental controls and more. On top of that, all new customers signing up online also get a , which makes the deal even sweeter.
Effective monthly cost is calculated by adding up all the monthly costs, price rises and any discounts and dividing it by the contract length.
Stacked up against similar Full Fibre packages from BT, TalkTalk and Vodafone, Sky Full Fibre 500 is extremely competitive right now. You'll pay more for slower speeds and fewer add-on options elsewhere. Remember though, this offer is only available online – you won’t get the gift card if you sign up over the phone or via webchat.
Sky Full Fibre 500 comes with average speeds of 500Mbps. That’s far above our normally recommended sweet spot of around 100-300Mbps, and more than enough for families with multiple devices streaming, gaming, video calling and working from home all at the same time. In fact, the only common reason to go faster than this, in our opinion, is if you're a hugely enthusiastic gamer who downloads the latest titles a lot, as well as being just a little bit impatient!

0330 221 9427To put it into perspective, 500Mbps is fast enough to download a 5GB HD film in under 90 seconds, or to support several 4K video streams simultaneously without breaking a sweat. Sky also includes a 400Mbps speed guarantee, so if your speed dips significantly below what’s promised, there are a bunch of guarantees and even compensation available. Right now 500Mbps still offers quite a bit of headroom and is fairly future-proof, but another advantage is if you need to step up to 900Mbps in the future, that's just a few clicks away via Sky's online user portal.

The on Sky Full Fibre 500 is an £85 Gift Card, and unlike some offers, it isn’t applied automatically – you’ll need to follow a couple of steps to get it. Once your Sky broadband service is live, your order is validated (which can take up to 120 days). After that, you’ll receive an email from Giftcloud with instructions on how to choose your voucher.
You’ll then have 90 days to claim it, and you can pick from a range of retailers such as Tesco, Amazon, M&S, Sainsbury’s, John Lewis, and Currys. The voucher is sent digitally to the email address you signed up with.
It’s important to note that if you cancel your order, claim late, or buy through another channel such as phone or webchat, you won’t be eligible. The gift card cannot be exchanged for cash, and only one voucher is issued per customer.
Sky includes its standard Sky Broadband Hub with the Full Fibre 500 package. That’s the default – solid, reliable, dual-band, and suitable for most folk. However, if you’re looking for something with a bit more oomph, you can opt for the Sky Max Hub instead by adding the 'WiFi Max' upgrade to your package (which is currently just £3 extra per month and comes with additional benefits). Let's take a quick look at their specs:
Feature | Sky Broadband Hub | Sky Max Hub |
---|---|---|
Wi-Fi standard | Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) | Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) |
Bands | 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz | 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz (better switching/faster) |
Ethernet ports | 4 x 1 Gbps LAN | 4 x 1 Gbps LAN (speedier internal performance) |
Extras | Smart channel selection, Smart Scan, dual-band | All above plus better QoS, device prioritisation, optional WiFi Max Pods (range extenders) |
In most cases the standard Sky Broadband Hub is perfectly capable of delivering 500Mbps wirelessly around a typical home, so long as your devices support Wi-Fi 5 or better. The Sky Max Hub comes into its own in larger homes though, or if you need more advanced controls like device prioritisation or to extend your homes Wi-Fi coverage via the Sky WiFi Max Pods. And if you're thinking of upgrading to Full Fibre 900 at some point in the future, you might want to consider the WiFi Max add-on right from the get-go.
Sky runs on the Openreach network, so installation depends on what’s already in your home. If you currently have Standard Fibre, an engineer will usually need to upgrade you to a Full Fibre line, which may involve running a new cable into the property. If you’ve already had Full Fibre installed before, Sky can often just post you the Hub for a simple self-setup deal.
Switching is easy thanks to Ofcom’s 'One Touch Switching' rules – once you sign up with Sky, it’ll manage the handover with your old provider. For renters, it’s worth checking with your landlord if any new cabling or drilling is required because you'll need permission, but for most households the process is quick and painless.
One of the nice touches with this Sky deal is that there are no setup or activation fees. Some providers still charge up to £35 for installation or router delivery, but here it’s all included in the monthly price.
That means what you see is what you pay – just the monthly cost of the package, with no hidden extras creeping into your first bill.
