Three Broadband is offered on a 24 or 12 month contracts, plus there's a rolling monthly service available too. And as you'd expect, the longer contract length does work out cheaper. That's not unsual as Virgin Media, BT, Plusnet and others are all favouring two year contracts these days. It does seem to be the shape of things to come.

Never mind that though because Three Broadband are now offering their 4G and 5G home broadband packages for just £17 per month on the 24 month contract. We think that's just incredible value, and significanly undercuts any competitor's offering. But add to that the fact that they're now throwing in a free £50 pre-paid Mastercard and that little extra now pushes this offer into the realms of the total no-brainer. It's even easy to claim – Three will send you a redemption email 90 days after you activate the service and get it sorted for you. We don't know how long this offer will be available, but we have to assume it won't be for long.
Finally, and as if all that wasn't enough, if you're already in contract to another mobile broadband provider, Three are now offering to cover some of your costs. They'll credit your account with the amount of your final bill from your previous provider, up to a limit of £100. Just be sure to send them a copy of that bill within 90 days of activating your Three service.
There is a big difference in the speeds you'll get from Three Broadband depending whether you can gt 4G or 5G where you live. If you don't know which one you can get, worry not! Clicking on either of these deals will take you to Three where it will check your location and tell you which you can get:
Three Home Broadband works in exactly the same way a regular fixed-line solution does when it comes to your experience in your home. There's a fast router that blasts a wifi signal out to all four corners of your home and you connect your devices to it in exactly the way you'll be accustomed to.
The difference is that rather than entering your home via a cable, your router is connected via the Three mobile network – one of the UK's most extensive. Three's Home Broadband routers will connect to either a 4G or 5G signal depending on what's available where you live, and provide download speeds of up to 70Mbps and an incredible 597Mbps respectively. Do bear in mind these are maximums and your actual download speed may vary. However, Three will be able to give you a good idea of your signal strength and likely speeds when you sign up.
Because there's no requirement for a landline or cable, there's no waiting for an engineer's visit or the associated hassle (and potential mess). It is, as they say, 'Plug and Play'. As long as you have a decent signal, the small router Three provide is usually simplicity itself to set up.
But here's the best thing – Three Mobile Broadband may well be the fastest way to get a broadband connection right now. You can order as late as 8pm and Three will start your contract and rush the router to you the very next day. We're not aware of any other provider in the UK who can boast a service like that, and having experienced it ourselves, we can vouch that they really do deliver. The very next day.
One small word of caution though – make sure to note whether your Three signal is 4G or 5G before ordering. Three offer both as separate services and we've heard reports that customers signed up to the 5G service can't get any service if it turns out their local signal is only 4G. And you have to presume the reverse is also true. But as long as you order the appropriate service, you should be fine.
Mobile data plans traditionally have monthly data limits – Vodafone, we're looking at you – but we think that's just too limiting if you're using a mobile network for your home broadband connection. So Three Broadband doesn't set any limits on how much data you can use. It's completely unlimited – although Three do insist their service is only for domestic use and frown on excessive commercial activity.
You can actually order Three Broadband and just try it out. Obviously that's easy to do with a simple plug and play router since nobody's been drilling holes to install a physical line. You can order the service, give it a whirl, and if it doesn't meet your expectations you can cancel, return the router and get your money back. Given that this service depends on a consistent mobile signal, we think that try-out period essential and it's great that Three decided to include that. And 30 days is a very generous cancellation period too. Normally, cooling off periods are around two weeks or so.
Whether you're a Three mobile broadband customer or a Three mobile customer, you can download and log in to the Three+ app on your phone and tablet. This app will provide you with regular rewards from Three's chosen partners. Examples of the discounts and rewards you could see include a £1 barista-made drink every week at Caffe Nero, discounted meals at restaurants such as Toby Carvery, savings on Uber Eats and reduced cinema tickets.
According to Ofcom's most recent report, customers were on average 87% satisfied with its service overall. That's up from 83% a few years ago. They've also long had an excellent reputation when it comes to actually answering when you do need to speak to them, with waiting times to speak to customer services of just 47 seconds. That's the the lowest in the business. And complaints to Ofcom about Three were very low at just 12 per 100,000 customers.
