Router

Vodafone includes a router as standard with every Full Fibre package, but which one you receive depends on the option you pick. The base choice is the Vodafone WiFi Hub, a solid dual-band router that runs on Wi-Fi 5. It’s fine for most homes, and easily capable of handling 500Mbps across a mix of devices, but it doesn’t have the newer Wi-Fi 6 features and can't put as much speed wirelessly to a single device as Wi-Fi 6 (or 7!) can.

If you want something more advanced, Vodafone offers the WiFi Hub X (a Wi-Fi 6 router) as part of its 'Pro' packages. It's better at managing lots of devices at once and can put more of our available speed through to a single device, which can be handy if you download videogames for example, and your PC or console isn't attached via a LAN cable. Pro packages also include Super WiFi boosters, which work as a mesh system to extend coverage throughout your home. That’s especially useful if you live in a bigger property, thicker walls (as you'll typically find in older houses) or just have rooms where the Wi-Fi signal tends to fade for some other reason.

For most homes, the standard WiFi Hub is good enough, especially if most of your devices are spread evenly around the house. How installation works with Vodafone Full Fibre 500

Vodafone's a bit different to some other providers in the sende it arrives either over the Openreach network (in most areas) and over the CityFibre network in others (mostly cities). And what happens on installation day depends on what’s already in your home. If you’ve never had Full Fibre before, an engineer will run a new fibre line into the property and fit a small fibre socket inside. That may involve drilling a neat hole through an external wall. The router is included as part of the package, and delivery is free, so your first bill will only ever show the standard monthly price.
